Students Involved with Technology Conference
(SIT Conference)
Educational leaders in Northwestern Illinois are bringing the Students Involved with Technology (SIT) Conference to the Quad Cities on Saturday, February 18, 2012. This extraordinary event will expose our young "digital natives" to wide variety of technology experiences and opportunities through more than 50 breakout sessions throughout the day.
What makes this conference unique is that it is completely presented 3rd-12th grade students! This conference is for students and presented by students. Adult volunteers from local schools and the community help the day run smoothly, but otherwise all presentations are prepared and presented by the students!
The SIT Conference has been an annual conference occuring at several sites throughout Illinois. It originated in Bloomington-Normal and has since expanded. This year we are bringing it to the Quad Cities. The conference is open to any student (public, private, or home schooled) that is in 3rd - 12th grade.
How does this all happen? Our non-profit group charges a nominal fee for studnets to attend, with all monies going to cover the cost of food, prizes, tshirts and more. Please watch for coming details on any of these websites: www.riroe.com www.iceberg.org/rice or http://ice.typepad.com/rice/
Your local school districts will also be provided this information. Visit the SIT Conference website for more information.
