One of ICE's goals is Professional Development - to support and provide professional development opportunities in educational technology through collaborative communities. Through our partnerships and the addition of our Professional Development Coordinator, ICE strives to provide a broad spectrum of needs and interests through conferences, events, organizational collaborations, professional resources, and strategic initiatives that serve to enhance our member’s professional practice. ISTE CAP

ISTE Certification is a new competency-based, vendor-agnostic educator certification based on the ISTE Standards for Educators. This digital credential recognizes educators who understand how to use edtech for learning in meaningful and transformative ways. Illinois Computing Educators has been selected by ISTE to be an authorized provider of the ISTE Certification for Educators because of their commitment to high quality edtech professional learning and the ISTE Standards as a guide for transforming teaching and learning. Read more...

 

ICE Book Study

Join ICE and AISLE (Association of Illinois School Library Educators) for an online book study moderated by Kristen Mattson on her book "Digital Citizenship in Action". In Digital Citizenship in Action, you’ll find practical ways for taking digital citizenship lessons beyond a conversation about personal responsibility so that you can create opportunities for students to become participatory citizens, actively engaging in multiple levels of community and developing relationships based on mutual trust and understanding with others in these spaces. Read more...

 

Makey Makey 

Illinois Computing Educators is the official Illinois Makey Makey training partner. Get ready for a fun hands-on workshop where you’ll learn about Invention Literacy, Making, and Design Thinking using the award winning Makey Makey invention kit used by educators in all 50 states and around the world.  Participate

ICE and Participate have partnered to bring you the ICE Portal through the Participate platform. Focus will be placed on systems for creating customized PD plans for individual educators and for school/district programs. Within the portal, you can dive into collaboration, sustained cycles of inquiry and reflection, and microcredentialing/badging. Love Twitter chats, Edcamps, online courses, blogs, and podcasts? Wonder Workshop

Illinois Computing Educators would like to announce their official partnership with Wonder Workshop, creator of the popular Dash, Dot, and Cue robots now used in over 15,000 elementary and middle schools in the US. Our partnership includes the Teach Wonder initiative, a collaboration with state-based nonprofit partners designed to give every educator the knowledge and skills needed to bring state-of-the-art coding and robotics experiences into the classroom.
