Develop a PLN

Developing your own PLN

Developing your own Personal Learning Network (PLN) is simple. We have all had them, whether it was the teacher down the hall, the mentor we were assigned with our first teaching job, our favorite professional organization, or the texts that we gathered to help us learn. Today, a PLN may still be composed of all of those parts, but may also include so much more. In fact, it may be overwhelming trying to figure out how to start with so many resources available through the Internet, instant communication tools and digital media. So follow these simple steps to get yourself started.

1. Organize and Gather Information
What tools do you use
Who do you connect with
How do you want to learn
When do you want to learn
2. Choose a few new tools to add to your PLN

3. Comment and Respond to others' posts that your read and/or listen to
4. Create and Share
Choose a tool to share your own experiences and information

One of the simplest ways to create your own PLN is to make your own Goggle homepage, selecting widgets that meet your own personal learning needs.
